I've done it, too!

My friend, Ballerina Girl, of Roller Coaster Ride used Blogger in draft to give her blog a new look, so I did it, too!

Tell me how you like it. Is it legible? Hard on the eyes? I can change fonts and colors, if it would make it better and easier to read.

Photo meme

I was tagged my Cherdecor to do this meme.
I was to open my first file of pictures and
select the tenth one and post it.

I had just received my first digital camera for Christmas. (a gift from my hubby) I began shooting in the living room, and of course, our Christmas decorations were up.

Ummm, I hate to "tag" people, because I don't know who would like to do it, or who might be hurt if they were left out, so anyone who wants to do it, consider yourself tagged!

I'm back, with apologies, and a meme

I haven't been here for several days, and I'm sorry. I haven't been here to comment on your blogs. I've been proofreading and editing a book for a friend, and now it's tax season, and hubby and I have been sorting our papers. An onerous taks every year! Neither of us is a natural born organizer.

Oh, and ... I've recently discovered Lexulous on Facebook ... Very time-consuming, ha ha! Anyone else play? So far I'm only playing the Lex robot, and I'm not very good, but enjoying it.

Here's the meme, I got it from a friend on LiveJournal, and thought it was amusing, and somewhat revealing of character.

If I were ...

If I were a month, I’d be December. (I love the Christmas season!)
If I were a day of the week, I’d be Friday. (I usually don't have anything scheduled on Fridays.)
If I were a time of day, I’d be 8:00 am. (That's when I usually wake up when I don't have to set the alarm clock.)
If I were a planet, I’d be Earth. (This one is the only one I know!)
If I were a sea animal, I’d be a seahorse, of course!

If I were a direction, I’d be Southeast. (I live in the southeast of the US.)
If I were a piece of furniture, I'd be a reading chair with a good lamp.
If I were a liquid, I’d be a cup of good, rich, dark coffee.
If I were a gemstone, I’d be opal. (Not my birthstone, but I love the colors!)
If I were a tree, I’d be a flowering dogwood. (Pretty in spring and fall - not that I am, but I'd like to be!)

If I were a tool, I’d be a computer, and travel all over the world from my desk.
If I were a flower, I’d be a pansy, with a funny little face.
If I were a kind of weather, I’d be a the first hint of chilly weather after a long, hot summer.
If I were a musical instrument, I’d be able to carry a tune! Maybe I'd be a piano. (Sometimes musical instruments are out of tune, though -- oops)
If I were a color, I’d be sky blue.

If I were an emotion, I’d be tranquil.
If I were a fruit, I’d be a peach. (sweet, but not too sweet)
If I were a sound, I’d be soft, mellow jazz. (calm, relaxing, soothing)
If I were an element, I’d be earth. (grounded, but looking up)
If I were a car, I’d be a Honda Accord. (anything that will follow the road)

If I were a food, I’d be beef stew. (my favorite comfort food)
If I were a place, I’d be home. (love to travel, love to come home again!)
If I were a material, I’d be cotton knit. (comfortable and practical)
If I were a taste, I’d be chocolate. (Need I say more?)
If I were a scent, I'd be roses. (Mmm)

March in Alabama

If it hasn't arrived in your area yet, it's "Coming soon, to a garden near you!"

(Those of you in the southern hemisphere may have to wait a few more months.)

My photos are being used without my permission - Update

Some of my photos, that I posted on Flickr, are in the slideshow labeled "Photos From Haiti" on this blog:

They did not ask me for permission, nor do they credit any of the photographers whose pictures are shown. My relief efforts for Haiti earthquake survivors is part of our church's and church denomination's project to provide Disaster Relief. It has nothing to do with BRAC. I am not familiar with that organization.

Editing to add: Here is the message I left on their blog (February 23 entry), and their response.

"Some of your Photos From Haiti are my photos, I posted them on Flickr. I have not given anyone permission to use these photos. This is food that will be going to Haiti; it is not yet there. My relief efforts are with my church, and not part of BRAC.

Dear Fancy Horse,

The photos in the slideshow are various public photos published by Flikr of Haiti. Thank you for your note, and we'll be sure to clarify this on the sidebar.

They have changed the slideshow to "Picasa Slideshow of Haiti" and my Flickr photos have disappeared.
