I've been away from my computer

My mother has been in the hospital this week. She's been having breathing problems, and it was found to be due to lack of blood. So, her dr. ordered two transfusions, a day apart. After the first one, she seemed ok but tired. That night, after midnight, she called us and couldn't breathe hardly at all! She was taken by ambulance to the ER, put on oxygen and given more Lasix.
Later, the dr decided that the transfusion gave her heart too much blood to deal with all at once! After a day, she was given another transfusion, and kept overnight to monitor her. She was better today, and went home this afternoon.
We are all very tired, and Mother has a beauty shop appointment tomorrow morning that she will not miss! She's looking forward to it (and needs it after a week in the hospital!)

One of the groups I'm in on Flickr, ABCs&123s
suggested this idea in a discussion thread. I liked it so much, I decided to post it here, too!

If you like it, too, how about sharing your "year in review", too?

Been to visit grandchildren! (Edited to add photos)

I have some photos, but don't have time to post them now. I will later.

Older granddaughter celebrated her third birthday with a Minnie Mouse cake, balloons, friends and family, and presents! Also on the menu were
her favorite foods: Chick Fil-A nuggets, cheese flavored tortilla chips with cheese dip and salsa (she ate hers without condiments), little cocktail weiners, stuffed potato skins, Coke and diet Coke.
The five-year-old and the three-year old enjoyed eating, then running all over the house.
The eight-month old baby boy took it all in with wide eyes and a good disposition. The month-old baby (my younger granddaughter) cried, and was alternately soothed by four loving grandparents. A happy day all the way around!

New granddaughter is a month old, and has already changed a lot since I was there in early December.

Edited to add: Here are the promised photos:

(The bear makes swooshing sounds that are supposed to be sounds the baby heard before birth. To me, it sounds like hearing the ocean in a seashell!)
