Donald Trump's conversion? (cross-posted from Facebook)

(I wrote this post on Facebook and am posting it here as well.)

Is Donald Trump a new believer in Christ? I have seen rumors here on Facebook and on news sites that James Dobson says he may be. Here it is straight from Dobson's website: http://http://www.drjamesdobson.org/resources/culture-watch?=hp-read

"Only the Lord knows the condition of a person’s heart. I can only tell you what I’ve heard. First, Trump appears to be tender to things of the Spirit. I also hear that Paula White has known Trump for years and that she personally led him to Christ. Do I know that for sure? No. Do I know the details of that alleged conversion? I can’t say that I do. But there are many Christian leaders who are serving on a faith advisory committee for Trump in the future. I am among them. There are about 45 of us that include Franklin Graham, Robert Jeffress, Jack Graham, Ben Carson, James Robison, Jerry Johnson, and many others whom you would probably know. We’ve all agreed to serve. How will that play out if Trump becomes president? I don’t know. It is a good start, I would think.
If anything, this man is a baby Christian who doesn’t have a clue about how believers think, talk and act. All I can tell you is that we have only two choices, Hillary or Donald. Hillary scares me to death. And, if Christians stay home because he isn’t a better candidate, Hillary will run the world for perhaps eight years. The very thought of that haunts my nights and days. One thing is sure: we need to be in prayer for our nation at this time of crisis. "

What I can say is, it is not impossible. All things are possible with God. What we must do is wait and see. If it is true, we will see a change of heart, of attitude, of words and actions. There will be less ego and more concern for God and for people. I do hope that Dr. Dobson and other religious leaders aren't being swept up by politics. There are worse things than another Democrat in the White House for four or eight more years, and that is willingly choosing a false prophet. Matthew 7:17-20 1"7 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them." Look for the fruit. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23) I am praying for the United States of American and for this election, and for Donald Trump and for Hillary Clinton, and for discernment.

Cataract surgery

I had my first eye "done" yesterday, and I woke up this morning able to see across the room, down the hall, and out the windows! Without glasses! It seems that my "new" eye dominates while walking about, and my "old" one takes over for reading and playing on my cell phone.

Here's how it went: to prep, I had to use antibiotic eye drops 4 times a day, and must continue for a week. Also, I'll have to use steroid eyedrops for a month. It was an outpatient procedure, and my husband had to be there to take me home. I'll probably be driving again by Wednesday. I was given a sedative to relax me but I stayed awake. Then several different eyedrops, some of which burned slightly. During the procedure, I saw bright lights and felt pressure but no pain. Then they told me I did well, and helped me get up and walk to the car. We went straight to breakfast - I was hungry! The effect of the sedative wore off gradually, and I was feeling better after eating. I had a slight headache, took Aleve and it disappeared. By afternoon, I could already see some improvement in my distance vision. The doctor put in a lens implant to correct my myopia. I've been wearing glasses since I was 4!

I'm really looking forward to having my second eye "done"!
